Now, Timotheous, or as some might call him, Timmy, used to be a regular guy, he went to school every day, average notes, not many friends but enough to have a standard social life, he liked a girl from the school’s orchestra who played the piano, and pretty much everything was,  let’s say … ok. One day, Timmy was looking through the old stuff his dad had in the attic and after removing a pile of chandeliers he saw a strange shaped bowl, he kept looking and found some other pieces with the same engraving, by the time he gathered all the components he realized it was a shisha. he’s seen them before but this one was special. He was thrilled to tell his friends but first he went to his father and asked for the story of the hookah. His father told him he once won it in a poker game to a Turkish stranger he met in Los Angeles, and asked him to put it back with a serious and worried face… Timmy thought he just didn’t wanted him to start smoking, but that didn’t stop him, the hookah was back on his hands by the end of the week and needed a place to hide, so he brought it to a friend´s baseman and decided to light it up and see if it was working. In the first three puffs nothing happened, but once a little smoke came out it turned itself into a vision, a vision Timmy never forgot, a vision that made Timmy, I mean Timotheus, who he is now, and trust me, I would like to and be the one who had smoked that day, because he is now the head of a movement, and a really dope one if you ask me, but no names can be told, and for the record, Timmy is an alias, and there was nothing illegal in the shisha that night.

Oh! I just remember a really cool one, remember the genie? Well…

There was this guy… Samir! yes, Samir. He had this exceptional eye for unique and valuable items; he had seen and known a lot of things despite his young age. Our story begins with Samir being in a flint market in Cairo. After looking around and observing every object offered, he saw an old and dusty shisha hanging in a net among old cups and rusty copper plates. As real pros do, he approached (like a boss), asked for the priced and pulled out some more bills to thank the shop keeper for the gift. He went away and established his tent by the river, made a fire and placed all his acquisitions over a blanket, and checked them to price in his mind the profit and choose which would be going to his personal collection. A trinket, a card opener and the mysterious bronze shisha… “if the clouds are ok, I’ll keep it” he thought. Orange was the flavor, and coconut the coal, it only took one puff to produce a massive cloud, and it wouldn’t stop, the smoke kept coming out and forming something huge, arms first, bracelets, a head, and then the genius was shaped, he had rings in the nose, white frozen eyes,  grey skin and a very grateful smile. “You have waken me, now I’m in debt, tell me one of your highest desires and I will bring it to reality.” Samir, of course, was almost fainted on the ground and hadn’t breathed for the last three minutes. –“I said I will grant you a wish! Are you alive little human?” but Samir was still in shock, a sparkle of the coal fell into his arm and made him react, he jumped, swallowed and screamed the desire, Nobody knows what was it, it changes depending on who’s telling the story, All I know is that Samir was rich beyond measure, and lived passed the hundred years, although many say the storie was just one of his eccentricities, I believed the shisha was holding prisoner the magic of the genius, like all shishas do, they all hold tons of magic inside.

One more? Hmmm let me see what else do I got.

Hot nightclub, good music, crazy lights, and kind of lounge, the view of the city was insane, but there was something tense in the environment. For some reason people felt awkward and wouldn’t stay for long, not something ideal for a place that lives out of drunk’s rock headed will to keep on drinking, the manager, named Christina, needed something to fill the place up and fast.  She heard of some new cocktails and shots that were selling like hot dogs downtown, she tried them and it didn’t work, she brought performers from all over the country and still the people felt like the place itched. She was despaired, one morning she was looking at the place as usual, listening as the janitor swiped the dance floor, trying to figure out what was the problem, all of the sudden the janitor stopped and said “bees can only be scared with smoke”  while he whipped around a mop to set one bee off. That’s it! She thought, people need something to relax them before loosen up and feel alright!, so he asked her boss for hookahs, not just hookahs, almost all of the types and colors of shishas available and all the tobacco flavors. By midnight everyone was having a great time, the smoke flew through the air like the music that was making everyone dance, girls stepped up and grabbed the guys to the dance floor without knowing them, the guys where all making the girls smile and laugh, drinks were going away from the bar like people running away from a building in flames! Once again, the shisha proved it’s magic.
